Posted on February 22nd, 2012 by Valentina Garbato

Thousands of southern Sudanese living in almost subhuman conditions in Sudan. These refugees fled following the outbreak of horrific violence in recent months.
The humanitarian organization SOS Children's Villages Sudan reports that among the displaced there are 2,000 children abandoned and alone. The humanitarian organization, in cooperation with local authorities, UN agencies and NGOs on the ground, will set up temporary shelters in the next two days in Juba and Malakal.
The volunteers will take care of 400 children, providing them with accommodation, access to education and psychological support. The organization will also launch procedures for the recognition of unaccompanied children, in order to then proceed with the activities of family reunification
