وقد أجرى "نوفي" عملية تحول جنسي من رجل إلى امرأة، وهو يعمل حلاقاً في مدينة جاوا الشرقية الإندونيسية.

وأكد "نوفي" أنه يقوم بتأدية الواجبات الدينية. أما أقرباؤه الذين ودعوه يوم الثلاثاء الماضي إلى الحج فيتمنون أن يعود "نوفي"من الحج وقد تغيرت عاداته.

ويمارس" نوفي" حياته اليومية على أنه امرأة؛ حيث يرتدي الحلي النسائية، لكن بعثة الحج الإندونيسية ضمته إلى فئة الذكور؛ حيث يقيم في مخيم الرجال، ويُمنع من دخول مخيم النساء؛ على اعتبار أنه رجل في الأصل، رغم تحوله وتشبهه بالنساء، كما أنه أُلزم بارتداء ملابس الرجال خلال رحلته للأراضي المقدسة.
